If you ever happen to be there -which is very unlikely : who goes there these days- put half day aside for a visit to fabulous Sa'dAbaad Palace complex, which was the official residence of the royal family in the north of Tehran. The Green Palace is a magnificient building, with beautiful mirror-works, persian rugs and all sorts of oriental stuff. Also, don't miss a traditional meal and accompanying black tea and fruit-flavoured water-pipe in one of the traditional restaurants. I recommend Ali-Qupu in Argentine Square or Sonnati in Aban Street.

It is def worthwile to visit Iran. Although tiresome to get a visa you should make a roundtrip during at least 2-3 weeks. There are many very beautiful places and the Iranian people are very friendly and very very helpful.
