Cuba is a photographers's dream. It is quite a contrast from southern Mexico as Cubans love to have their photos taking. The only problem that you may have, is getting natural shots as Cubans are eager to pose for your pictures:) The people are fairly dark skinned so make sure you bring lots of your favorite portrait film for dark skin tones. Good slide film is sparse there and whatever you do, do not process any E6 there. I had a roll come out 2 stops too dark due to the lab using exhausted chemicals. Cuba is a VERY safe country with wonderful people which is a comforting feeling when you are carrying around thousands of dollars worth of gear. The biggest problem you will likely experience is pilfering of your bags by the airline workers so lock up your bags or wrap it in plastic wrap like the Cubans do.
